This coming weekend, the Ondara Municipal Sports Pavilion will host the finals of the Autonomous Women's Cadet Basketball. The CB San Blas de Alicante teams, Valencia Basket, Fundación Valencia Basket and Picken Claret will compete for the title, after having qualified as the first four teams in the league.
The competition system for these finals will be all against all, with the team that accumulates the most points at the end of the matches being declared champion. Both the champion and the runner-up will qualify for the Spanish Championship.
The presentation ceremony of this sporting event took place today at the Ondara City Hall, with the participation of Salvador Fabregat, president of the Basketball Federation of the Valencian Community; José Ramiro, mayor of Ondara; Lluís Fornés, Sports Councilor of the Ondara City Council; and Vicent Mas, coordinator of the Ondara Municipal Basketball School.
Fabregat highlighted the choice of Ondara as the venue due to the good work done and the previous experience in organizing similar events. Likewise, she highlighted the quality of the finals by having the best regional teams in the female cadet category, inviting the population of Ondara and the region to enjoy the matches.
For his part, Lluís Fornés expressed the importance of these finals for Ondara, as a sign of confidence in the town, and anticipated finals full of emotion and quality. Mayor José Ramiro was also satisfied with once again placing Ondara as a reference for basketball in the Valencian Community, highlighting the previous experience in organizing similar events that guarantee the success of this edition.
The match schedule is as follows:
- Friday, April 26 at 18:00 p.m.: Picken Claret – CB San Blas de Alicante / Valencia Basket – Valencia Basket Foundation.
- Saturday, April 27 at 17:00 p.m.: Picken Claret – Valencia Basket / Valencia Basket Foundation – CB San Blas de Alicante.
- Sunday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m.: Valencia Basket Foundation – Picken Claret / CB San Blas de Alicante – Valencia Basket.
