The Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat celebrates its 30th birthday, after on November 28, 1992, 13 municipalities of the Valencian Country signed a constituent manifesto for the creation of a fund that would bring together efforts and resources for the socioeconomic transformation of impoverished countries through through decentralized international cooperation from the Valencian municipalism, thus making more effective and efficient the will of the municipalities and associations of the Valencian Country to contribute to the construction of a more just and sustainable world.
30 years later, the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat has a total of 128 town halls and 9 associations from the 3 member provinces of the entity, which represent almost 25% of the town halls and in addition to 50% of the
country's population, and has established itself as a diverse and consensus-based organization where political will unites from pluralism (both territorial, political, and population-based) to achieve the Fund's own purposes. In addition, the work and contribution of the Fund have turned the organization into a key agent of Valencian cooperation.
The Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat has carried out a program to commemorate the entity's 30th birthday, with the aim of making visible and asserting the important task carried out by the entity, and, therefore, the municipalities and associations of the Valencian Country that the form. The different programmed activities will take place between November 2022 and March 2023, this is the constituent stage of the entity during the years 1992 and 1993. Proof of this is the project 'Un Fondo de Valores' that is being developed in Pedreguer
these days.
In addition, the municipal entity presented, last Wednesday, January 25 in Benissa, the documentary "From the choir of the Fund. The heartbeat of an entire town” which shows the work of the Fund. At the end of the screening, there will be a colloquium where the Pedreguer solidarity councilor, Ferran Lloret Morell, participated together with the regional cooperation secretary Tonyi Serna. The councilor of Pedreguer and member of the Fund's board wanted to highlight the great task that the Fund carries out both in the southern countries and in the Valencian Country and the importance of a
strong solidarity from the local municipal level.
