The Pedreguer town hall has successfully completed the installation of a self-consumption photovoltaic system on the roof of the emblematic cultural building, La Pista. With a capture power of 63,70 kWp, this innovative facility will provide electricity to various municipal buildings, including the Town Hall and the House of Culture, once the legalization procedures are completed.
The installation is based on self-consumption of electrical energy, which in the case of Pedreguer has chosen to benefit from compensation for surpluses. This important advance reinforces the commitment of the municipality in the search for sustainable solutions and contributes to the promotion of the local energy transition.
This project has been financed with a subsidized loan from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) at 0% interest, for an amount of €64.977,00, and 50% of this amount is subsidized from non-refundable funds. Therefore, the City Council will only pay half of that amount in 4 years and without interest.
From the City Council they remember that, in addition to this municipal building, the municipality already has solar panels in several public buildings. Among them, the Municipal Pool and the multifunctional building that will house the future museum. All this, together with the launch of the local energy community, are steps forward to get closer to the objectives of the 2030 agenda, which requires the imminent adoption of measures that help combat climate change and its effects.
