Pedreguer chooses to restore La Musical, improve the entrance roundabouts and bet on renewable energy in its Participatory Budgets

For the tenth consecutive year, the Pedreguer City Council has offered its neighbors the possibility of actively participating in the preparation of the municipal budget. From the proposal presentation phase, which took place in summer, to the public voting phase, during November, citizens have been able to propose and subsequently choose those municipal investments that they consider to be a priority for the City Council to include them in the municipal budget for 2022 .

The proposals with the most support have finally been the following:

1. Preparation of the project to restore 'La Musical': 1.142 votes.

2.Aesthetic improvement of the roundabouts at the entrance of the town, labeling the name of Pedreguer: 510

3.Installation of solar panels in some municipal buildings: 448 votes.

4. Granting by the City Council of the concession of a xiringuito to the Parc del Patronat: 403 votes.

5. Provide more lighting for the Sequier roundabout, as well as the intersection between C / Sol and Avinguda Jaume I: 328 votes.

6.Installation of surveillance cameras in the C / València car park: 300 votes.

7. Label the streets of the town with their official name and the name by which they are known: 241 votes.

8. Conditioning of the access area in the Castellet de l'Ocaive: 223 votes.

9. Adaptation of the C / Avenir and Avinguda Maria López parks: 172 votes.

10.Elimination of the glass fountain in Plaça de l'Amistat and replacement of the railings: 134 votes.

11.Install more electric vehicle charging points in the town: 111 votes.

12.Improvement of the sports hall sound equipment: 90 votes.

With levels of public participation higher than the last edition - this year 801 neighbors have participated in the voting phase, while last year they were 650; that is, 10,96% of the census– Pedreguer's participatory budgets are consolidated as a pioneering exercise of democracy and transparency in the management of local public resources. Taking into account budget availability, it will be assessed and decided which actions will enter the municipal budgets for 2022.
