Opinion PSOE Calp: "Victimist Budgets"

November 28 from 2022 - 13: 04

For yet another year, the residents of Calp, including political groups, have had to find out about the municipal budgets through a press conference, before even technically approving them and/or submitting them for debate, revision or amendment. No one overlooks the fact that these practices not only show the enormous distance that the city council has been taking with the citizenry, but also the evident internal fractures and a process of cainite balkanization in the PP (which will increase as elections approach).

In the same line, personal and autocratic, with which he began his term, to the rhythm of "here I command" the budget preparation processes of the last 4 years have been marked, with zero political, social or neighborhood participation. The Department of Citizen Participation has had so little prominence that no one will be surprised that the occupier looks for it in other acronyms. For the rest, the lack of self-criticism, the noisy and aggressive style, added to a pathological victimhood, have raised a wall before the rest of the administrations that adds to the obstacles that are preventing municipal growth.

The example of the Second Institute

Despite appearing in the 2023 municipal budgets with an investment of 1.700.000 euros, the mayoress cannot avoid persisting in her strategy of tirelessly pointing to the Ministry to exonerate her own responsibility. It is no longer credible. More so when since April 5 the Territorial Directorate of Education, as we have been able to verify personally, is waiting for the Calp City Council to present the Project for the execution of the second institute.

It turns out that at the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Education allocated almost 13 million euros for its construction. Since April 5, the responsibility for drafting the works execution project and its bidding corresponds to the Calp City Council.

SEVEN MONTHS have passed since then and, despite the urgent need for this new institute to solve the IES IFACH saturation problems, the city council has not yet been able, or has not wanted to, contribute to this execution project.

The Socialists consider that the mayoress ANA ROOM is deliberately delaying the delivery of the project for electoral purposes even when this implies an obvious harm to the young people of Calpe.

Another example, "The White Harbor"

The most common is that fear, repressed anger and sadness hide behind that pattern of blaming others. Possibly caused by electoral uncertainty and the growing weakness of the Popular Party. As a result, fed up and a trail of institutions politically designated by the mayoress, a long list of culprits that goes from the Júcar hydrographic conference, Ministry of the Environment plus some Ministry, all under the pretext of being governed by the left.

When listening to the demonstrations about the Puerto Blanco that are launched from the City Hall, a lack of illusion and inability to maintain a course of progress for this municipality is denoted. Far from congratulating itself on the advanced phase of the project, which is finally on track, the mayor's office only focuses on what is missing, once again taking advantage of the opportunity to victimize itself and distribute blame among higher administrations.

The townswoman forgets that more flies are caught with honey than with vinegar. It turns out that there are more and more administrations that have openly shown their discomfort with the forms used, even in efforts that do not even fall under municipal jurisdiction. What the citizens are not told is that the project will be a reality shortly, but, apparently, the mayor's advisers point to more electoral gain in the confrontation with the ministry than in the announcement of possible joint achievements.

How much worse better?

The municipal budgets will give a lot of talk in the coming months, as will the fractions and acquisitions of the Popular Party, old and new. What is not acceptable is that this institutional victimhood is consolidated abroad in each public appearance or press conference, becoming a tiresome letter of introduction for our municipality. There are plenty of examples from neighboring municipalities, from Altea, Benissa, Dénia, Xábia or Teulada-Moraira, to see that similar projects advance without problem, regardless of political color.

Under the pretext of permanent grievance, the city council allows itself to have a kind of immunity by which everything they say is true, everything they do is well-intentioned, while with this they only intend to legitimize a radical, pernicious and blackmailing ideology. . Nothing more than a distraction from the real problem.

The final intention, as can be seen in the plenary sessions, is that whoever dares to question any political act passes for insensitive or heartless, and it is not so. There should be no doubt that from any administration there is a will to get Institutes, schools, ports or infrastructures. What is no longer so clear is that their collaboration is achieved with accusations, threats and snares. Local power structures have become enmeshed in the excuse and need to be refreshed.

Before the media, paradoxically, the government team tries to show itself as a good manager, but it does not do what is necessary to ensure that these efforts or that recognition materialize. Despite everything, it bothers him not to achieve it and decides to blame others for everything they do not achieve. Meanwhile, the until now silent autochthonous deputy, architect of many of the truncated projects, lurks from Madrid, where he proudly photographs himself with convicts, exulting in impunity in congress, demonstrating the PP's inability to meet the demands posed by the XNUMXst century. .
