The Valencian Pilota Federation, in collaboration with the Ondara City Council, organizes a women's Pilota Grossa meeting this Sunday, October 1, in the Ondara trinquet and adjacent streets, from 09:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. It is important to highlight that this is the first Pilota Grossa Women's Meeting promoted by the Pilota Federation, since women's meetings have previously been held in other modalities (such as galotxetes, raspall or llargues), but this is the first time it has been held. corporal in the gross pilota mode; a modality that gains more followers every day as it is a discipline that allows the participation of people of different levels and physical conditions.
The Pilota Grossa Women's Trobada was presented by the Department of Equality of Ondara, Nerea Mallol, the Councilor for Esports, Lluís Fornés, and the vice president of the recovery modalities of the Valencian Pilota Federation, Bea Gavilà. For this activity, which has already closed the registration period, any player interested in practicing this fun modality and which is growing year after year in the world of Valencian pilota could sign up. This Sunday games of this modality will be played, where all participants will have the opportunity to learn about pilota grossa, guided by women and men who already practice it and by technicians from the Valencian Pilota Federation. It will be a magnificent day of camaraderie around the Pilota Grossa. The matches will be played both in the Trinquet de Pilota Grossa de Ondara and in the nearby streets, where Pilota Grossa matches have already been played in 2021 and 2022.
The Esports Councilor highlighted that "the Ondara City Council always collaborates in everything that the Pilota Federation proposes to promote the native sport." He also took the opportunity to remember that the Ondara City Council recently acquired the second ratchet to expand the facilities dedicated to the pilot. For its part, the Department of Equality has indicated that "sport constitutes an engine of change and helps to promote equality between men and women", considering that "this type of initiatives, such as the female pilota grossa meeting, are fundamental and very necessary at the moment, and even more so if it is about more minority sports", expressing his satisfaction that this first meeting is being held in Ondara and betting on the holding of more meetings to promote women's sports.
