Last Tuesday, August 17, the resolution of the Call Plan + Sports 2021 of the Alicante Provincial Council was published, which will help cover the small outdoor pool of the Municipal Pool of Ondara. In this way, Ondara will receive 50 euros, that is, 107,52% of the total budget of the work, to carry out these changes in its sports facilities.
The total of the work amounts to 64 euros, so the 803,94 euros that are missing will be provided by the city council. This has been confirmed by José Ramiro, mayor of Ondara; Mar Chesa, Councilor for Sports and Francesc Giner, Councilor for SINMA, the municipal company that manages the swimming pool, during their visit to the sports facilities.
The project to cover the small outdoor swimming pool of the municipal compound specifies that the pool basin will be covered with polycarbonate and it will be connected by means of a tunnel to the swimming pool enclosure. The intention is to start the works this year, to be able to enjoy the new coating in early 2022.
The city council considers that it is the best solution to be able to properly heat the water in this smaller pool and, thus, use it all year round. In the same way, it will also allow to expand the offer of activities of the municipal facility and, consequently, increase the number of users.
