Ondara has been selected by the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Inclusion of the Department of Education and both the CEIP Sanchis Guarner and the IES Xebic of Ondara are training in the Pilot Program of Territorial Cooperation for Emotional Well-being in the Educational Field of the Department of Education. The training of teachers at the Ondara centers began in mid-January and will continue until June.
This week, the Project coordination team presented it to the Ondara City Council, to receive its support. The councilors of the Government Team participated in the presentation; among them, the Mayor, José Ramiro, and the Councilor for Education, Rosa Ana Marí; as well as municipal technicians, to publicize the community part of the program. Subsequently, one of the training sessions was held at the CEIP.
The educational centers of three Valencian municipalities participate in the Project: Ondara, Almenara and Alaquàs, and its purpose is to include social-emotional learning in educational centers, not as an aspect to be worked on separately, but integrated with everything that is done in the schools. centers in their daily tasks. With this methodology, among other benefits, discipline problems and school failure are reduced; The risks of mental disorders are reduced and social skills and the capacity for emancipation for adult life are increased.
This Emotional Wellbeing Project is a community Project; Therefore, it is not only implemented at the center level, but at different levels: classroom, center, families and municipality. And in the latter is where the role of the Ondara City Council comes into play as guarantor of complying with the same lines of action with childhood and adolescence that are carried out in the municipality's educational centers.
This 2023-24 academic year, the Project is in the beginning process with the training of teachers and the preparation of the map of resources of the municipality of Ondara that could collaborate with educational centers. In the next academic year, the start of implementation is already planned with monitoring by a Welfare Commission where not only teachers will be represented, but also agents from the educational community.
