Ondara promotes activities in schools to commemorate the International Day of Forests

The City Council of Ondara, through the Department of Education directed by Rosa Ana Marí, has organized, together with the Gardening and Forestry Employment Workshops 'Ondara, we are committed to your future X', the celebration and commemoration of Forest Day (whose anniversary is March 21) in the Educational Centers of the municipality.

To achieve this, a series of activities, visits and workshops will be carried out, as announced by the Councilor for Education, Rosa Ana Marí, who has been accompanied by the Mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, in the presentation of this initiative.

International Day of Forests is celebrated annually on March 21 to pay tribute to the importance of all types of forests and to try to raise awareness. This is a call to action to harness technological innovations for our forests, with the aim of addressing the growing threat of deforestation, habitat degradation and climate change by organizing forest-related activities. and trees, such as tree planting campaigns. The theme for this year 2024 is 'Forests and innovation'.

Specifically, the activities promoted by the Department of Education to commemorate Forest Day in Ondara are aimed at all preschool students at Marjales School and Primary School at Sanchis Guarner, from March 21 to 26. The activities will be carried out both in the school facilities themselves and by visiting outside the center (Molí Coví, Parque Público Segaria, and Jardí L'Albarda de Pedreguer).

Organized activities

This Thursday, March 21, at the Marjals Nursery School, the 'Let's Take Care of Our Yard' activity will take place; with a Sensory Garden aimed at 3-year-old students (aromatic planting), from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and a Vertical Garden aimed at 4 and 5-year-old students, from 9:30 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.

On Monday, March 25, Sanchis Guarner students will participate in the 'Cuidem La Natura' activity, which will take place at the Molí Coví, aimed at 4th grade primary school students (plantation), with the participation of the Occupational Gardening Workshop.

On the other hand, in the Segaria Public Park, 6th grade students will participate in a ghymkana 'ideal forest station' and planting, with the collaboration of the Forestry Occupational Workshop. And the 3rd year Primary students will visit the L'Albarda Garden, to participate in the chili pepper hotel workshop and guided tour.

Already on Tuesday, March 26, the Sanchis Guarner students will carry out the activity 'Let's Take Care of Our Patio', with a Vertical Garden aimed at 2nd grade students (with the collaboration of the Gardening and Forestry Occupational Workshop) and the 5th grade students will carry out the Mediterranean Ecosystems workshop and guided tour of the L'Albarda Garden.
