Sport without barriers, that is the premise with which tomorrow, Wednesday, April 6, a day to commemorate the International Day of Physical Activity is celebrated. Under the motto 'That no one is left out of sports', around 250 boys and girls from sixth grade and first year of ESO will participate in a series of activities that seek to promote accessibility to sport for all people. An event organized by the City Council of Pego and the schools of the municipality.
The day will start at 9.30:XNUMX a.m. (weather permitting), when the students leave their respective schools, they will travel through the center of the municipality until they reach Passeig Michel, the epicenter of the sports day. There boys and girls will participate in adapted sports modalities such as boccia, as well as tests such as athletics (without vision or sitting). There will also be other disciplines of adapted sports that will take place in the Ausiàs March pavilion, right next to Passeig Michel; such as goalball or chair volleyball. There will also be other activities such as adapted orientation, the sports sign language workshop or inclusive transformation, that is, the adaptation of a sports activity selected by the population with functional diversity.
“The main objective of this day is for boys and girls to understand that physical activity and adapted sports is a fundamental way to integrate and respect diversity. Everyone has the right to play sports”, says the Councilor for Youth and Sports, Raül Tamarit. The mayor also thanked "the participation and involvement of all schools in the municipality in this day." Regarding the weather forecasts, Tamarit has confirmed that if the sports day cannot be held tomorrow, "we will look for another date close to the calendar."
