Pego adds a new awareness campaign regarding recycling. It is about the collection of plastic bottle caps, which has been launched and seeks to promote recycling among neighbors, and especially among the smallest and smallest of the municipality.
The council collaborates for this initiative with the company CMPlastik, in charge of giving a second life to plastic, transforming it into objects of use. In the case of Pego, they will transform the plastics into banks. In fact, the municipality already has two of these banks, installed in the new square located on Calle Llavador. A square that is still in the final process of completion.
The City Council wants to involve the smallest and smallest of the municipality, for this reason, for a few days now, containers have been distributed in schools so that boys and girls can participate in this campaign. "The objective is to raise awareness among the smallest and smallest and to involve their families," says the Councilor for Urban Waste, Ricardo Sendra. For this, a series of talks are already being carried out with the students of all the schools. "It is necessary to give a second life to the materials we use on a day-to-day basis."
So that the elderly can participate in the campaign, a heart-shaped container will also be installed where the caps collected at home can be deposited. Once the collection period is over, the company collaborating in the campaign will be in charge of transforming them into banks. The objective, indicates the councilor, is to install six more banks, "four of them near the four educational centers of our municipality."
