The “Vida Teulada Moraira” awards honor the dedication and contribution to the municipality of 8 residents

Teulada Moraira celebrated its first “Vida Teulada Moraira” awards last night. An emotional gala arose from the need to value the dedication of the residents and their contribution to the municipality.

Numerous attendees gathered like this at the Teulada Moraira Auditorium for the occasion. During the event, attendees enjoyed the speeches about the stars of the night: the winners. Later, the day ended with live performances by the group Himnóticas and the mentalist Juanma González, known for his participation in Got Talent Spain.

The 1st Vida Teulada Moraira Awards thus recognize the dedication and contribution of the people of the municipality in various categories. The winners of this first edition are:

  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award in the 'Dedication' category for Vicente Oller Torres. Vicente, who worked for almost 37 years as a janitor at the Sant Vicent Ferrer public school in Teulada, has been an example of affection and dedication towards his work and the children of the municipality.
  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award in the 'Festivals and traditions' category for Antonio Ivars 'Mixeta'. Antonio, originally from Benissa and married in Moraira, has been a fundamental pillar in the development and preservation of the festivals and traditions of Teulada Moraira.
  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award in the 'Sports career' category for Alfonso Buigues Torres. Alfonso, former Valencia CF player and bearer of the Olympic torch in 1992, has left an indelible mark on the municipality's sporting history.
  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award in the 'Education' category for Vicente Berenguer Llopis. Vincent, a priest and missionary, has revolutionized education in Mozambique and has been widely recognized for his humanitarian work.
  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award for the 'Vincentine Contribution' in Teulada for Vicente Ramón Vallés Oller. Vicente Ramón has been involved in numerous social and cultural initiatives, contributing significantly to the Vicente heritage of Teulada.
  • Vida Teulada Moraira Award in the 'Exemplary Woman' category for Leonor Valles Garcia. Leonor, at 78 years old, continues to demonstrate her tireless dedication by running a restaurant in Moraira and helping those who need it.
  • Teulada Moraira Special Life Award for Isabel Julia Esquerdo. Isabel has dedicated her life to education and has been the first female councilor in Teulada, as well as the founder of several cultural associations.
  • Teulada Moraira Honorary Life Award for Carlos Gimenez Tarin (posthumously). Carlos, a photographer by vocation, has documented the life and people of Teulada Moraira, leaving an immortal visual legacy.

The mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raúl Llobell, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event and extended his congratulations to all the winners: «We are proud to have started these awards to recognize those who have made our town a better place. Fortunately in Teulada Moraira there are many people, associations and groups that deserve to be awarded, that says a lot about the municipality that we have created together. The Vida Teulada Moraira Awards are an inspiration for future generations.

The gala, Llobell assures, is just the beginning "of a tradition that is expected to last over time, recognizing and celebrating the neighbors and associations that have left and continue to leave an indelible mark on Teulada Moraira."

The councilor concluded by thanking the work of Quico Torres, artist and creator of the gala's emblem and figure of the award. A detailed symbol of the union of sea and land, which is part of Teulada Moraira and its people.
