One of the latest demands of Compromís against the government of the Generalitat of the Popular Party and Vox has been its position against "the announcements of cuts in the Education budget." According to the training, they intend to paralyze hundreds of works and improvements in educational centers "that are in danger of not being carried out due to cuts."
With the Plan Edificant launched by the previous Botànic government, the Valencian formation claims to have carried out "more than 500 major renovations and constructions of educational centers", in addition to having made "planning until 2027 of actions underway and that it is already "they are being processed."
Last November, the Compromís Education spokesperson in Les Corts Valencianes and resident of Xaló, Gerard Fullana, denounced that the new Consell had initiated the procedure to cancel works in 12 towns in the Valencian territory. The spokesperson assured that "they are changes that the PP wants to promote through the regulations that govern the delegation of actions in city councils with the Edificant plan (Decree Law 5/2017) and the budget cut in educational infrastructure for 2024."
Based on these statements, Compromís warned that the changes and cuts would jeopardize the works of 341 educational centers in 178 different Valencian municipalities, for which almost 1.400 billion euros had been awarded "for construction and improvements of schools that will not be carried out." ».
On your platform Save schools, the Valencian party offers a list of educational centers by municipalities that, they predict, will be affected. Among them are numerous from the Marina Alta, which can be found in the latest update of the document of actions of the General Directorate of Educational Infrastructures of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports dated 27/01/2023, where it indicates the actions planned to be carried out between 2024 and 2027. In this list it is also possible to consult the actions already carried out previously.
