The City Council of Ondara, through the Department of Maintenance directed by Miguel Gomis, has negotiated the new contract for the maintenance of the different elevators located in municipal buildings and facilities, with the aim of improving the quality and reducing the cost of the service.
After two months of negotiations, the Ondara City Council has finally awarded the contract to the company Kone Elevadores SA, which will begin to provide the service from June 1, except in the elevators whose contract in force is still in force (in this case, the new maintenance will start when the current contract ends).
More than 8.000 euros will be saved
As Miguel Gomis has announced, with the new contract, the Ondara City Council has achieved annual savings of 8227,21 euros. The municipal elevators subject to this maintenance are 9 in total; 1 in the City Hall building, 1 in the House of Culture, 1 in the Social Center, 1 in the municipal swimming pool, 1 in the Music Classroom, 1 in the Sanchis Guarner School, 1 in the Marjals School, and 2 elevators in the elevated walkway that crosses the road and communicates with the shopping center.
The person in charge of Maintenance, Miguel Gomis, has confirmed that the new contracts will include better coverage, such as the substitutions or repairs of parts that deteriorate and the quickest response in technical assistance for breakdowns. In addition, with the new contracts, the annual technical inspections OCA (Authorized Control Body) will be included free of charge, which added to the reduction in the annual price of the maintenance contract for each elevator, will result in savings of more than 8.000 euros per year for the municipal coffers of Ondara.
The elevators of the walkway to the Shopping Center will be checked every two days
On the elevators of the walkway of the Shopping Center, Miguel Gomis has taken the opportunity to emphasize that the cleaning staff acts there every 2 days, detecting if something does not work, and will communicate immediately to solve it, carrying out the repair in many cases on the same day or in just two days in specific cases in which parts are not available.
Therefore, at most, the lifts of the walkway are only without service for two days, contrary to what has been indicated in some cases on social networks.
