The Fishermen's Guilds of Dénia, XàbiaOn January 30, Moraira and Calp signed a collaboration agreement within the “Barriendo Mares” project to collect and recycle various plastic waste found in the sea.
For the initiative, the regional company Recycling Bottles makes available a container to deposit the waste that the brotherhoods remove from the sea during their working hours. The same entity will remove the garbage for treatment, recycling and subsequent mixing with other waste collected by the management company Ecoembes in the Marina Alta.
After this treatment, two other companies, Aura SL and Casa Vigar SL will transform the collected waste into brooms and cleaning supplies. The initiative aims to resort to a circular economy by reusing waste from both the sea and post-consumption in the region.
