Next Sunday, March 10, the IV Edition of the Volta Ciclista Fèmines Trofeu Vila d'Ondara will take place, marking the start of the semi-professional women's cycling season in the Valencian Community. This outstanding sporting event will be an integral part of the 1st Feminist Fair that the Ondara City Council will organize in commemoration of 8M, International Women's Day.
The competition, which will be organized by the Segària Cycling Club in collaboration with the Ondara City Council, will begin at 10:00 a.m. from Avinguda Doctor Fleming, with departure and arrival in front of the Bullring. The 80 kilometer route will include passages through towns such as Ondara, Beniarbeig, Sanet y Negrals, Benimeli, Ràfol d'Almúnia, Sagra, Tormos, Orba, Benidoleig and La Vall de Laguar, presenting a demanding challenge for the participants.
The presence of teams from various parts of Spain is expected, as well as cyclists who also compete at a professional level. The categories in competition will range from cadets to masters 60, offering a diverse and exciting sporting spectacle.
At the presentation event, important figures will be present such as Lluís Fornés, Sports Councilor of the Ondara City Council; Rubén Donet, Director of the Volta a la Marina; Vicent Sendra and Vicent Hernando, from the Segària Cycling Club; and Ana Ribes, Sports Technician of the Ondara City Council. Fornés will highlight the importance of organizing this stage once again, especially this year, as it is framed in the 1st Feminist Fair, underlining the pride of continuing to promote the visibility of women in sport, this time through cycling. Likewise, it will be highlighted that this test is a pioneer in the Valencian Community, consolidating its relevance in the regional sports calendar.
