What is the Youth Rental Bonus?

The Youth Rental Voucher is an aid of 250 euros per month for young people who are not older than 35 years. It is a total aid of 6.000 euros spread over 24 monthly installments with which it is intended to facilitate the emancipation of this group, as well as help to avoid or, at least, slow down the demographic challenge.

People of legal age who are holders or are in a position to sign a lease can benefit from this aid. The home or room must be your habitual and permanent residence during the entire period for which the aid is granted.

The rent or transfer price of the home must be equal to or less than 770 euros per month, while in the case of renting a room, this rent is set at a maximum of 300 euros. The bases establish a table of maximum prices according to the location of the properties. Likewise, general expenses, bonds, services, taxes, or charges will not be eligible.

The aid will be granted for a period of two years and the beneficiaries will be obliged to notify the Second Vice Presidency and the Department of Housing of any modification of the conditions or requirements that motivated the granting of the Youth Rental Voucher.

Alejandro Aguilar, the regional secretary for Housing and Social Function, has pointed out that the latest data from the Youth Emancipation Observatory regarding housing reveal that, in the first half of 2021, only 13,7% of young Valencians could leave the family home to have one of their own, with women having greater difficulty becoming independent. In addition, the data reveals that a person between 16 and 30 years of age in the Valencian Community has to allocate 64% of her salary to pay the rent if she emancipates alone and 35% if she shares a flat.
