The new update of data provided by Public Health on the evolution of the coronavirus in the last three days, shows the serious situation that the Marina Alta region is experiencing. The new report notifies 909 new cases of covid infections. A record number since the coronavirus pandemic began.
So far, so many positives have never been added to the same update. These figures almost double the number of infections recorded last Tuesday in which 577 positives were registered. With the new report, the total number of infections in the Department of Health, on which the entire region depends, rises to 19.131 since the start of the pandemic. Of these, 2.321 are active at the moment.
Regarding the accumulated incidence in the last 14 days, this stands at 1.360 cases per 100.000 inhabitants compared to 1.110 cases last Tuesday.
The other negative note of this update is given by the total number of deaths. On this day, two new deaths have been recorded, one in Dénia and another in Poble Nou de Benitatxell. The new deaths bring to 221 the total number of people who have lost their lives in the Marina Alta as a result of COVID.
COVID situation by municipalities
By municipalities, Dénia is once again the population with the highest number of infections with 257, followed by Xàbia with 167 positives, Pego 75, Calp 71, Teulada 62, Ondara 55, Pedreguer 49, Benissa 39, Orba 36, el Verger 38, Gata de Gorgos 23, Vall de Laguar 5, Beniarbeig 5, Benidoleig 5, Alcalalí 4, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell 3, Llíber 3, l'Atzúbia 2, Ràfol d'Almúnia 2, Xaló 2, Tormos 2, Els Poblets 1, Vall de Gallinera 1, Sanet i Negrals 1, Benimeli 1, Benigembla 1, Castell de Castells 1 , Murla 1 and Sagra 1.
With these data, practically all the municipalities of the region have added new infections in this new update. Four have been the towns that have not registered positives on this occasion: Parcent, Senija, Vall d'Alcalà and Vall d'Ebo.
