The Generalitat forms the Advisory Council for the recovery of areas affected by the Vall d'Ebo fire

The Generalitat de Valencia has taken another step in the recovery of the areas affected by the forest fires last summer in the l'Alt Palancia and Marina Alta regions. This Thursday the appointment of the members of the Advisory Councils of the Recupera-T Bejís and Recupera-T Vall d'Ebo Plans, designed by the Consell to respond to the situation, was published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat (DOGV) generated after natural disasters. The Decree of the President of the Generalitat regulates the composition, structure and operation of these working groups

"Once the Advisory Council has been appointed, from the Generalitat we are going to present more than 90 actions that we propose for this region and we will work with it to identify the priorities for execution and any new measure that it may propose," said the General Director of Analysis and Public Policies, Ana Berenguer.

"This advisory council is going to be absolutely fundamental for the governance and success of the plans, in the same way that the Advisory Council of the Vega Renhace Plan has been for Vega Baja", indicated the general director.

«With the appointment, we begin the preparation of future plans for these areas hand in hand with civil society, experts, citizens and mayors and mayors. The objective of the Consell is to turn these events into an opportunity to promote the economic and social reactivation of these areas and promote territorial development that is respectful of the environment, which makes them more resilient in the face of future episodes of forest fires, and which enables a greater structuring Of the territory".

The actions to be carried out will be divided into three phases: damage repair, forest restoration and socio-economic recovery and reactivation. The Advisory Council will also identify the weaknesses, strengths, threats and opportunities (DAFO) in the areas affected by the forest fires in the Marina Alta and neighboring regions.

In addition, it will be in charge of monitoring, reviewing and analyzing the actions that are being carried out, as well as proposing the necessary modifications or updates. On the other hand, he will meet with representatives of the administrations and civil society, in the framework of the development, evaluation and improvement of the plan.

With the aim of informing institutional representatives and civil society in general and rendering accounts, it will hold an annual conference in which mayors of the corresponding geographical area and institutional and civil society representatives will participate.

Plan Recupera-T Vall d'Ebo

The objective of the Recupera-T Vall d'Ebo Plan is to turn the catastrophe into an occasion to promote a resilient environment that favors the economic and social regeneration of the regions affected by the forest fires.

The Plan comes to complement the actions already carried out by the Consell, consisting of both the provision of material and human resources and financial aid, to alleviate the damage caused by the serious forest fires of July and August 2022.

In this sense, it should be remembered that, in response to the Vall d'Ebo fire, aid has already been processed in excess of 866.000 euros and comprehensive emergency response offices have been created to receive and process requests for aid from municipalities affected by forest fires.

The President of the Generalitat assumes the presidency of the Advisory Council and the vice-presidency, the person in charge of the General Directorate of Analysis and Public Policies.
