The Alicante Provincial Council has approved the granting of 500.000 euros in aid for a new call for the Performing Arts Festival intended for town councils and other local entities to hold events.
As the Culture Deputy, Juan de Dios Navarro, recalled, the purpose of the subsidy is to promote and encourage music and performing arts in the province. Thus, the Provincial Council has reinforced collaboration with municipalities that have an equipped and suitable space for holding concerts and shows performed by professional companies in the following four modalities: theater, children's theater, dance and circus.
The events framed in the 2024 Provincial Festival of Performing Arts must take place until next October 15 and the call offers a specific help line for municipalities in the province with less than 10.000 inhabitants.
On the other hand, the Provincial Council has also opened the call for subsidies to municipalities for the promotion of the Valencian language and popular culture with a budget of 200.000 euros. The objective of this aid is to promote Valencian in the province through different disciplines such as theatre, literature or music, which serve as an instrument to reach all audiences.
In this case, activities such as musical or stage performances, correfocs, festivals, contests, contests, tributes, exhibitions or conferences, among others, will be eligible, as well as the design, layout, editing, printing and reproduction of books and magazines, CDs, DVDs. or any other type of publication or audiovisual material, in paper or digital format.
