The Civil Guard is investigating the death of two people in the Maryvilla urbanization in Calp, located on the slope of Morro de Toix. According to Civil Guard sources, at 9:45 a.m. they received the emergency notification from 112 indicating that a neighbor had heard explosions. Upon the arrival of the Civil Guard and Local Police agents, the two deceased bodies were found in two adjacent homes.
These are two men, one of Spanish nationality and the other of French nationality. Both have gunshot wounds. In a first home, the lifeless body of a 32-year-old Spanish man was found, while in an adjacent home the body of another 45-year-old French man was discovered. Both bodies had gunshot wounds. A short firearm was found at the last address.
After consulting the Civil Guard database, none of them had a license to possess firearms in Spain.
At the moment the causes of the event are unknown, although the first indications suggest that one of them shot the other and then took his own life. According to Civil Guard sources, one of the lines of investigation suggests that the incident could be related to a conflict due to damage suffered by one of them, who was demanding compensation from the other party.
Members of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police and the Laboratory of the Alicante Command, together with the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Calpe, have traveled to the scene to begin the corresponding investigations.
Agents of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard in Calpe have taken charge of the investigation. The Court of Instruction No. 2 of Dénia has been designated as the competent judicial body to carry out the pertinent legal actions.
