This morning, around 11:30 a.m., the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) received a call requesting assistance for a 74-year-old man who had been rescued from the water in an unconscious state on Arenal-Bol Beach in Calp.
The members of the beach lifeguard service immediately began basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers to try to save the man's life. Shortly after, a unit from the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAMU) moved to the scene. Upon arrival, the medical team continued with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support techniques.
Despite the efforts of the medical team, the man has not responded to resuscitation maneuvers and his death has been confirmed at the scene. The exact causes of the drowning will be determined after carrying out the corresponding autopsy.
