San Pancracio is one of the most fun and deeply rooted celebrations in the municipality of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell since it was introduced by 'La cuadrilla del Sarmiento'. As tradition dictates, the municipality has already appointed its mayors for one day: Juan Gilabert and Ángela Marqués.

From the balcony of the City Hall they have announced their first mayoral decree this Monday, which the neighbors will have to comply with next Saturday, May 13, on the festive day of costumes: that men dress up as women and women as men.

The weekend has been full of festive and religious events in El Poble Nou de enitatxell. Dozens of pobleros and pobleras participated in the colorful floral offering to the Virgen de la Rosa. Children and adults headed towards the Church to offer to the Virgin with her floral bouquets accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà. Next, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí offered a sample of traditional dances with dolçaina and tabalet music in the Church square. At night, there was a dance with the La Fiesta orchestra on La Pau street.

The celebration of religious acts in honor of the Virgen de la Rosa continued yesterday, Sunday, with the blessing and subsequent distribution throughout the town of 120 'pans beneïts', one of the most deeply rooted and unique traditions in the municipality in which festivities participate, festeras, boys and girls from the municipality walking the streets with baskets of blessed bread. Accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà, the entourage distributed the pieces of bread to the neighbors who were waiting for them in the doorways with an empty plate throughout all the houses in the town.

The festivities continue on Monday in Calle la Pau with cock races that always leave amusing impressions, giant paella, the Cau championship at the Social Center and a performance by Toni Catalá.
