The nautical sector joins and creates the Marina Alta Nautical Tourism Association

November 30 from 2021 - 15: 10

The Marina Alta region is the center of Nautical Tourism in the Valencian Community, in fact it generates more than 2.000 direct and indirect jobs. To bring together all the companies in this sector, ATNMA, the Nautical Tourism Association of the Marina Alta, was born.

"We wanted to enhance the representativeness and unity of the sector to have a voice of its own before the administrations and address the new challenges and regulations that could harm the sector. A negative image of the sector is being transferred that does not respond to reality. Nautical Tourism in the Marina Alta is sustainable tourism, both socially, economically and environmentally. ”, Says Ricardo Burriel Mora, President of ATNMA and Director of Marina Nou Fontana-Jávea.

All subsectors of Nautical Tourism are represented in the new association: boat sales, boat and jet ski rental, sports and active tourism, nautical management, ports and nautical clubs, boat maintenance and repairs.

ATNMA intends to work for the promotion of the sector and the compatibility of nautical activity with environmental sustainability. "We are collaborating jointly with the Tourism, Environment and Ports Councils so that the new Posidonia Law is an opportunity and not a threat for the nautical tourism sector in the Marina Alta", comments Ricardo Burriel.

Other objectives of ATNMA are the representation of the sector at fairs and congresses, enhance the public image of the Marina Alta as a nautical destination, promote the practice of sport at sea, reaching agreements with city councils and addressing the problems that may arise due to the increase in nautical activity.

ATNMA was presented in the assembly hall of the Alicante Provincial Council at the CREAMA of Dénia before a large number of companies in the nautical sector that gathered to support the project. “We want ATNMA to be the voice of the sector in the region and become a reference to promote everything related to the sea and take advantage of the great potential that the Marina Alta has as a nautical destination,” Ricardo Burriel wanted to highlight at the event.
