The deputy of Infrastructures, Javier Gutiérrez, and the mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, have visited the new Center of Day of the municipality located in the street Josep Grimalt Mauro, accompanied by councilors of the corporation. These facilities, with a budget of more than half a million euros, have received 337.500 euros in aid from the Provincial Council, which represents 75% of the amount of the action, and a contribution from the City Council of around 150.000 euros.
Gutiérrez has pointed out that the new dependencies, which started in 2017, "will finally see the light in 2022, as soon as the Generalitat gives the green light to provide a fundamental service for our elders". The Day Center will have 30 places for the elderly. The 450-square-meter building has a dining area, multipurpose room, kitchen and administrative offices with access through a covered porch.
For his part, José Ramiro has detailed that this Day Center "is a very positive work for the service that we will provide to the elderly not only from Ondara, but also from our entire region".
The owner of Infrastructures has explained that, in addition, the Provincial Council will invest in Ondara around one million euros through the Plan and Close plans and the Financially Sustainable Investment Plan of 2019. In the first of these plans, which it allocates to Ondara 523.000 euros, the most significant work will be the construction of the House of Music and Performing Arts, a building budgeted with 675.037 euros that will have a help of more than half a million euros from the Provincial Council. Gutiérrez has expressed his desire that this construction begin at the end of this year.
Also with + Cerca 2020/21, works valued at more than 200.000 euros will be financed, such as the improvement of the lighting of the Tossals public park, the opening of a pedestrian road and parking area in San Cristófol street and Ronda Generalitat and expansion of roads for ride a bicycle. Today, the space dedicated to enabling a patio for the Day Center has also been visited, with a budget of 73.000 euros. All these actions will be fully financed by the Diputación.
The provincial institution, through the new Plan + Cerca 2022, has also granted Ondara 195.000 euros to develop investments or for current spending.
