OPINION | We are Calpe, political group
It is time to confront reality, especially for those who seek to divert attention from their own negligence towards us, those currently responsible for steering Calp towards a prosperous future. We addressed the current leader of the Popular Party in the opposition, who also held the position of mayor, president of the Provincial Council of Alicante and deputy in Congress, to question his constant animosity towards our supposed incapacity. How can he criticize our management when he himself is the one who is conspicuous by his absence in the plenary sessions, abandoning his own municipality?
Where were you when we needed your vote to approve crucial projects such as the new institute, the commercial bond or the taxi driver ordinance? His absence in vital decisions for Calp is inexcusable. Despite this lack of interest in Calp, from Madrid he pulls his strings and instructs his councilors in the opposition to abstain from all the proposals presented by the government team.
It is evident that he is moved by personal interests, seeking to remain in politics at all costs, representing dark interests that use people and believe that the institution and the people are theirs and exclusive to the Popular Party. But things are changing, our party, Somos Calpe, has arrived to work on close and effective management, which looks after the interests of the people of Calpe. We continue to focus on good management, attracting investments and building a transparent and prosperous municipality.
Furthermore, it is truly hypocritical for this political "leader" to talk about "cortijos" when, in reality, what really hurts him is that Calp, a municipality for everyone, is no longer exclusively his fiefdom.
We conclude these lines with a key message: we should not be afraid to decide where we want to be. The times of coercion and manipulation are over. It is time to choose a better future for Calp, free of selfish interests, petty politicians and obsolete parties.
