The lightning that unleashed a fire last Saturday night in La Vall d'Ebo continues to advance without control. Yesterday afternoon, the villages of Benirrama and Benialí in La Vall de Gallinera and Alcalà de la Jovada in Vall d'Alcalà and several urbanizations in Pego were evicted due to the risk that the fire could reach homes. This morning homes in l'Atzúbia and Castell de Castells have been evicted and this afternoon the evictions have reached the El Comtat region (Toyos, Famorca and Facheca).

Currently more than 1.200 people have had to be evicted, many of them are in Pego, where the city council and volunteers are in charge of offering bed and food to people who arrive.

The big problem that the emergency services have been facing since Saturday is the constant change of wind, from Levante to Poniente, which makes it difficult to define a strategy so that the fire stops advancing.

The fire that started in Ebo is now spreading around the Barranc de l'Infern and the municipalities of Vall de Gallinera, Vall d'Alcalà and Castell de Castells.

This noon had already burned more than 7.000 hectares in a perimeter of 50 kilometers.

At 7:15 a.m., the air media, 5 media from the Generalitat Valenciana and 7 media from the Ministry, have rejoined. In addition, since last Sunday the Military Emergency Unit (UME) has been on the ground. More air assets have been requested from the Ministry, including a coordination aircraft.
