The IES Pedreguer, through its Equality and Coexistence Coordination, has prepared a series of events in collaboration with the Feminist Action Group and the faculty of the Equality Commission, on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8. The activities aim to encourage reflection and dialogue around gender equality and the fight against violence against women, and will include the participation of students and teachers.
The events will begin on the 7th with the arrival of the Torch for Equality at IES Pedreguer, which will host the center from Gata de Gorgos, the IES Matemàtic Vicent Caselles Costa. Then, the Torch will be taken to the demonstration called for all the citizens of Pedreguer on Wednesday, March 8 at 20:00 p.m., where students and teachers from the different schools will also participate.
On Friday the 10th he will finish his tour with the Pedreguer students, who will travel to the IES Maria Ibars in Dénia, to hand them the Torch. This action comes from the coordination between some educational centers in the region that, based on the Feminist Action Student Groups, carry out feminist awareness actions and create a regional network. This year, IES Teulada also participates in the Torch tour.
On March 8, at recess time, International Women's Day will also be celebrated at the IES Pedreguer with a poetic-musical performance by the students participating in the Feminist Action Group, with the collaboration of the teachers.
In addition, on March 10, the prizes of the V Literary Contest of Equalities and Diversities, this year 2023, will be awarded to the winning students and to the students who have participated by drawing illustrations to accompany the texts. It should be noted that this literary contest has already been held for five editions and has the participation of ACEP, CREAMA and the Pedreguer Councilor for Equality.
On the other hand, the IES Pedreguer, in collaboration with the Department of Equality of Pedreguer and the Equality area of the MASSMA, has organized a series of talks and workshops for each educational level throughout the month of March:
- March 3rd. A female vision of the History of Art, by Irene Ballester Buigues, addressed to 1st year of Baccalaureate 1st of CFM TAPSD.
- 7 of March. The mocador de la mànega- Cures and stereotypes, by Belén Ivars Ribes (Berlem) for 1st ESO.
- March 9. Non-mixed workshops "feminist self-defense" and "masculinity", aimed at 3rd ESO. By Baula.
- March 10th. Musicians from the region: Amèlia Medina talks about Dolors Sendra. Aimed at 2nd ESO.
- March 13. Round table Feminist Donations in politics, l'abans i l'ara. With Júlia González Maillo and Belén Ivars Ribes. For 1st year of Baccalaureate
- March 29. Talk about egalitarian masculinities, with Agustí Zaragozà, addressed to 4th ESO and 1st Basic FP.
