Last Friday afternoon, the Beniarbeig Auditorium hosted the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Marina Alta Orchestra (OMA) with a special event organized together with the Fundació Dénia. One of the most overwhelming moments was when the 55 musicians from the region premiered, together with the Orfeón Crevillentino, the choral version of Fonts in September, the anthem of the Marina Alta.
Fonts in September is a composition by the Pegolí musician Ferran Ferrando Domènech, to which the lyrics of Pepe Tono of the pedreguero Lluís Fornés Pérez-Costa, known as El Sifoner. It was last week in Beniarbeig when the 66 voices of the Orfeón gave another version of the regional anthem together with the OMA, under the direction of Francesc Esteve.
The OMA celebrated its magnificent journey in this way, showing its exceptional musical training, adding to the repertoire of the event Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the interventions of Tehmine Schaeffer (soprano), Ariana Mayer (mezzo-soprano), Vicente Antequera (baritone) and Jesús Álvarez (tenor) with the choir conducted by Isabel Puig.
