Teulada-Moraira is included in the list of municipalities affected by the overpopulation of mountain rabbit since 2001. For this reason, the City Council reminds the public that the Ministry has established a action protocol against the forecast or appearance of damage to crops agricultural products produced by rabbits.
In this way, the consistory adds that, in case of current damage or anticipate that it will occur, the farmers of the municipality can submit to the Information and Processing Service (SIT) the form called "Request for action for significant damage to crops" indicating the location of the parcels affected or that will be affected.
To remedy this, the City Council specifies that, by submitting these forms, the collaboration of the municipality's Hunter Society is requested, entity that owns the local hunting ground.
These will be in charge of adopting the necessary measures in order to reduce or mitigate damage to crops. In addition, with said form, they are authorized access to agricultural land to carry out the pertinent control actions.
