This week the remodeling works of the Parc dels Garrofers in Calp have been awarded to the company Cemer Play SL for an amount of 230.989 euros and a completion period of four months. This is the comprehensive remodeling of this urban park located next to the House of Culture and close to the Civic Center, the project is 100% financed by the Provincial Council within the +Cerca 2023 Plan.
The actions will focus on replacing children's games and creating a continuous impact-absorbing pavement. The existing equipment in the park will also be replaced by placing new benches and new litter bins.
In the lower area of the park there is currently a circuit of healthy elements that are in disuse, since their condition is poor due to their time in service. It is planned to eliminate the existing equipment and install a new healthy circuit equipped with 4 healthy elements and 2 elements for users with reduced mobility. In addition, a wooden pergola will be installed in a paved area where tables with benches will be placed.
The park is currently closed on the perimeter by a masonry wall and topped with a steel fence. In its highest part the fence is made of wood and its replacement is necessary due to its poor condition.
To promote increased shade in the children's play area, it has been planned to plant mulberry trees in specific areas. Finally, the remodeling of public toilets has been planned, which currently present deficiencies due to use and useful life.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Infrastructure and Urban Quality, Juan Manuel del Pino, has pointed out that "this park had become obsolete and especially the playground and its pavement were quite deteriorated, with the remodeling works the entire park will be improved, more tree areas will be incorporated and a park will be improved that, given its location, has with many users.
