Within the framework of Operation Miller, nationwide, to give a police response to the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana, the Civil Guard of Calp has dismantled two marijuana plantations inside two chalets. Operation Lietuvos, as the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Calp has baptized this investigation, has resulted in the arrest of one of those responsible, who has entered provisional prison without bail and the full identification of another responsible.

The investigations had their origin in the month of September when they suspected the possible existence of two marijuana plantations inside two luxury villas in the town of Calp. After several months of monitoring, surveillance and stationing, the agents were able to verify that although the chalets were far apart and in different urbanizations, both plantations were linked through their two managers.

Those responsible, tenants of the houses, maintained frequent contacts, these being Lithuanian citizens, who showed a high standard of living, circulating in high-end vehicles, and they were not aware of any work activity in the country.

The properties were managed with total discretion and had all the necessary infrastructure for this type of plantation: hermetic and guarded accesses, complex ventilation installations and irregular connections to the electrical network.

After obtaining all the sufficient indications and evidence for the charge, in the month of December the searches of the two houses were carried out, resulting in the discovery of two indoor-type greenhouses in the basement and garage of each one of them.

In said records, 400 marijuana plants, 35 kilos of marijuana buds packaged and prepared for their release on the black market, as well as various material for their cultivation were intervened. Two motor vehicles, both high-end, were also seized.

In addition, it was found that those responsible had made illegal connections to the general electrical network, to facilitate and speed up the growth of the plants and thus obtain a greater economic benefit in a short space of time.

The searches concluded with the arrest of a 32-year-old male of Lithuanian nationality, who is charged with a crime against public health for drug cultivation and another crime of fraud of electrical and similar fluid. The other person responsible for the registered homes was also fully identified, reporting to the competent judicial authority.

The Investigating Court of Denia has requested the detainee to be admitted to provisional prison without bail. The operation remains open, so further arrests and / or investigations are not ruled out.

With this operation, the agents of the Civil Guard of Alicante have dealt another blow to criminals of Lithuanian origin, specialized in this type of incident in the eastern area of Alicante.
