November 16 from 2021 - 13: 16

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana has communicated to 11 destinations in the Valencian Community that they have entered into the first call for the Extraordinary Destination Tourism Sustainability plans that are financed with Next Generation EU funds and with the direct execution action by Turisme.

Dénia and Benissa are the only municipalities in the Marina Alta that will receive this aid from the European Union after having passed the competition process and obtained more than 75 points.

Specifically, the proposals that have exceeded the score and will foreseeably be financed in the 2021 annuity are those of the municipalities of Alcalà de Xivert, Alcoy, València, Benissa, Oropesa del Mar, Finestrat, Dénia, Bocairent, Cullera, Torrevieja and La Commonwealth of the Interior Tierra del Vino.

The regional secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, recalled that "these extraordinary plans were approved at the last Tourism Sector Conference held in July, and they represent for the Valencian Community a transfer of more than 139 million euros from Next Generation EU Funds, about 50 of them attributable to the 2021 call ".

Francesc Colomer explained that "for this first call, we have received a total of 45 applications, of which 16 have finally passed the cut-off of more than 70 points that is marked in the strategy."

In this sense, it should be remembered that the Valencian Community will receive a total of 139,1 million Next Generation EU Funds to be executed in three years to promote these plans for Tourist Sustainability in Extraordinary Destinations. Specifically, the annual territorial plan for 2021 has 49,5 million euros. In 2022 the endowment will be higher, with a total of 53,8 million euros; and in 2023 there will be a third call for these plans with 35,8 million euros.
