On March 9, 2024, various primary sectors in the Marina Alta have announced a demonstration in protest against the adverse conditions they face. The lack of profitability and the risk of abandonment of farms are some of the main concerns that mobilize this community.
The protest, which will depart from the Manuel Bru Parking in Benissa at 09:00 a.m. to Dénia and plans to return before 14:00 p.m., it will have the expected participation of between 30 and 40 tractors. The organizers assure that the demonstration will take place in a peaceful and orderly manner, having obtained the corresponding approval from the Alicante government subdelegation, as reported yesterday by the Benissa Digital portal.
The main objective of this rally is to highlight the daily challenges faced by farm and sea workers, as well as demand measures that guarantee the sustainability of their activities and the quality of local products.
Among the notable supporters of this initiative is Juanvi "El Palleter", who has expressed his support for the demonstration as a significant contribution to the cause.

Organization of the tractor unit
This Saturday, March 9, is a day of great activity in different towns in the region. In Benissa, the municipality from where the tractor unit will depart, the renowned Perimeter race is also held. The Benissa City Council, after receiving the information from the government subdelegation, is already coordinating with the Local Police the traffic cuts that will affect the roads and highways in Benissa.
As reported by the Benissa City Council, the Manuel Bru car park, where the demonstration is called, must be left without parked vehicles from this Friday night, March 8, at 22:00 p.m., until the end of the call.
On March 9, the tractors will leave from there at 09:30 in the direction of Valle Inclan street, then Ausias March, to finally join Avenida del País Valencià. This will cause traffic cuts in the Benisser area until approximately 10:00 a.m. Next, the march will continue to Dénia along the N-332.
