In a statement signed by the general secretaries of Compromís per Pedreguer and PSPV-PSOE Pedreguer, Noèlia Miralles Gilabert and Rosa Avellà Artigues, and by the socialist spokesperson, Celia Mas, and the Valencian mayor of the municipality, Sergi Ferrús, they expressed their wish to sign an agreement in order to carry out the proposals presented by the socialists throughout the four years of municipal government.
Both parties share the stated action criteria and a joint working group has been created to study, assess and develop these proposals. In case of disagreements, a "harmonious interpretation" will be sought to achieve rapid and complete satisfaction of the objectives set by both political groups. "This commitment will be assumed by all the people who make up the parties, regardless of their hierarchical level or position held," the statement specifies.
The proposals of which both formations speak are the following:
- Ordinance on the abolition of prostitution. The PSPV is a party that clearly advocates the abolition of prostitution. Abolition is a matter of human rights and the dignity of women. The fundamental objective of this proposal is the eradication of this scourge and the defense and protection of the rights of people who are in a situation of prostitution. For this, it is necessary to elaborate an abolitionist Municipal Ordinance that protects women and that penalizes both pimps and sex seekers.
- Match the rate of waste collection in dispersed areas with that of door-to-door collection, opening of disposal spaces and construction of others in areas where they are necessary and do not exist. From the PSPV we consider that it makes no sense for people who live in dispersed areas to pay more for the urban waste collection tax than those in the population center, taking into account that they must go to the collection points that correspond to them, to often far away, while the rest of the population receives door-to-door collection. Likewise, we believe it is necessary to keep waste disposal spaces open, since the mechanisms in which the codes must be entered present many difficulties to manage, especially among the elderly, and have a clearly dissuasive effect, without our knowing exactly what is its purpose. It is also convenient to carry out a correct evaluation of the location of these waste disposal spaces, since we have received some complaints from the neighbors in which they show the need to do more.
- Eliminate Outsourcing of Municipal Sports Services. From the PSPV we propose a study aimed at the creation of an Autonomous Municipal Organization, endowed with its own legal personality and dependent on the Department of Sports, and which could be called the Municipal Sports Institute, in charge of the management of municipal sports and include a function multiple: administrator, coordinator, regulator, integrator, investor and planner.
- Construction of the Animal Shelter. It is an old demand to which we must pay the utmost attention and priority, taking into account the problems currently raised by the collection of lost, abandoned or mistreated animals in our municipality. The protectors are committed to life and respect for sentient beings, promoting adoption and sterilization as the only ethical system to end overpopulation. It is necessary to highlight especially the proliferation of cats in our municipality and the need to apply the CER method to control the population.
