Compromís denounces the breach in Pego of the 2021 budget agreement

January 18 from 2022 - 13: 14

At the beginning of 2021, Compromís Pego and the Pego City Council government team signed an agreement to vote favorably on the 2021 municipal budgets. The agreement included a Local Occupation Plan, the pedestrianization of the historic center of the town and a development plan agriculture in the municipality.

From Compromís Pego they explain that the agreement has only been partially fulfilled. "Once again, the limited management capacity of this government team and the low loyalty to the opposition forces in fulfilling the commitments made is demonstrated," spokeswoman Anna Sastre concludes. “In fact, we are in January 2022 and the municipal budgets have not yet been presented to us.”

In the part of the breaches, they announce that the pedestrianization works of the historic center have not been carried out during the year 2021, as they had agreed. Its spokesperson, Anna Sastre, regrets that “pegolines and pegolins would have been able to enjoy traffic-free streets during Christmas, with obvious positive effects for businesses and restaurateurs in this part of town. We hope that these works that will give a lot of life to our municipality will not be delayed any longer”. The document also included a point where quarterly monitoring commissions were agreed to monitor compliance. According to the Valencianists, in the third and fourth quarters the meetings were not held despite the fact that they requested them from the members of the government team commission. "It seems that they did not want to show their faces because they knew they were not going to comply."

On the other hand, from the Compromís municipal group they congratulate themselves for the results obtained from the Employment Plan, in which 25 people have been hired, of which 9 are women. These are people at risk of exclusion or integration difficulties in the labor market who have had an opportunity to obtain work experience. “36% of the people hired have been women, thanks to the gender clause that our group negotiated in the Plan's specifications. Despite being improvable, it is a good figure considering the high masculinization of the jobs that were offered”, explains Sastre.

Regarding the agrarian development plan, despite not being exactly what the municipal group requested and that much remains to be done, the spokeswoman Anna Sastre affirms "that steps are being taken in the sense of drawing a future in our field with the collaboration of the City Council with Coopego, which is working on a European plan for a greener and quality agriculture”.
