Calp hires 11 capacity controllers and covid-19 measures for the beaches

03 June 2021 - 16: 48

The Calp City Council plans to fill 11 controller positions on the beaches in order to ensure compliance with the regulations on gauging and security measures against COVID-19 this summer.

To this end, the Calpine town hall has made an emergency contract with the aim that these controllers begin to provide their service on June 24. His work will be complemented with the 25 controllers that the Generalitat will assign to Calp for this tourist season.

As they did last year, these workers will be in charge of controlling the capacity of both the beaches and coves of the town as well as compliance with the social distance and other measures that are established against COVID-19. Of the 11 positions that the City Council will fill this summer, one of them will act as supervisor of the rest and the working day of all of them will be eight hours.

The City Council considers it essential to cover these 11 positions as well as the 25 provided by the Generalitat in order to ensure greater efficiency in these control tasks. The Consistory will invest 120.000 euros for the hiring of the 11 positions while the hiring of the 25 controllers of the Generalitat will be paid for between the two administrations.

On the other hand, while waiting to know the concrete measures that will be applied on the beaches this summer in the face of COVID-19, the City Council has already announced that it will reinstall some poles in order to free a strip of six meters from the shore, which will be reserved only for the walk and access to the bathroom.
