Yesterday during the first day of FITUR the company GW Festival in collaboration with the Calp City Council and the Costa Blanca Tourist Board presented the Game World Festival, the largest meeting gamer Open air in Spain that will be held, if the health situation allows it, from November 4 to 7 in Calp.
The Gamer World Festival aims to be an original event with an exclusive format that will bring together the most recognized electronic games of the moment. The proposal is aimed not only at the players, but also at their family and friends, since during the days of the event various activities are planned: lectures, round tables, university participations, counters and cosplay exhibitions.
Until now, in Spain, events related to the world gamer in which the main eSports tournaments are framed are limited by space. This means that the physical limits that delimit the area of action force in one way or another to reduce the spectrum of possibilities and variety in terms of audience, capacity, style of play and opportunities. Gamer World Festival, therefore, leaves behind the concept of “event” while making its way onto the national scene as the first open-air video game festival.
The pillars that shape the GWF are that eSports are a sport that has come to stay, which can be enjoyed as a family, with lectures and related activities, without forgetting its potential as a business.
The presentation at FITUR was attended by well-known influencers, many of them professional players, who promoted through their digital channels the event that in 2021 will make the province of Alicante the venue for the most innovative eSports event in the country.
The video game segment is becoming increasingly important in the field of digital marketing. Their viral repercussions have great impact and are usually backed by a significant number of followers who follow their idols through social networks. In addition, the consumption of eSports or organized competitions of players in the online environment, has registered a considerable increase in recent years, and the holding of tournaments and events related to this segment has become one more tourist attraction.
