The Tourism team led by Jorge Ivars has never finished finding the final key for large film productions to see Benissa as an ideal setting for the recording of films, spots, video clips or television series.
As explained from the consistory, dince some time we have been working with an important database of locations but "the reality is that to date no company in the sector has set its eyes on this little paradise in the Marina Alta located on the shores of the Mediterranean", they explain and add, "something really curious, especially if we take into account that Benissa has an innumerable amount of magical and charming spaces".
That is why, after months of work, analysis and research developed by the technical apparatus of Turismo Benissa, the tasks are beginning to discover another face of the municipality that may be really attractive for the producers.
Last week Ivars received a group of participants in the familiarization trip destined for six localizers of film and television productions (American and British).
The organization has been in charge of the Costa Blanca Film Commission of the Provincial Board of the Costa Blanca, in collaboration with several municipalities in the province of Alicante, in order to find out locations that could be the scene of audiovisual productions.
During the morning, the group visited the Cala Advocat and a section of the Ecological Walk accompanied by the tourism technician and delegate councilor. According to Ivars, “the sensations have been very good”. To which he added "from Tourism we explore new avenues of action and we are convinced that in a short time they will give good results".
And the thing is, the department has managed the BenissaFilmOffice since 2016 and since then it has served more than 28 companies (production companies, fashion firms, car brands, organizations, etc.) offering advice and help for their photographic and audiovisual productions. Vogue, Decathlon and Lola Cruz are some of the companies that have chosen Benissa for their seasonal campaigns.
Xàbia or Dénia are already within the "movie" locations chosen by several production companies for both movies and spots, as we have in LaMarinaAlta.com last June.
