This famous phrase, attributed to the philosopher, politician, writer and playwright Seneca, could well summarize the government activity of the Benissa City Council during the last financial year. And it is that, 2021 has been the year in which courage, along with responsibility and common sense have been sealed as part of the identity of a solvent municipal team and that treasures an 'outstanding' management.
Social aid for people with greater difficulties, support to companies and the self-employed through subsidies, direct actions for the commercial fabric, strengthening citizen participation, improvement of public services, promotion of local culture, investment in infrastructure, development of a new sports project, initiatives in the field of equality, promotion and innovation in tourism, an increase in police personnel, expansion of waste collection services, improvement of youth policies and modernization of public spaces are just some of the most outstanding items of a large number of actions that prove an impeccable evaluation of the management of Arturo Poquet and the rest of his government team.
Investments in 2021
To focus the focus and put the lens on some of the most important details of this year, we must highlight the 600.000 euros in road paving, the construction of the third phase of Les Escoles Velles worth 650.000 euros, the works of the new stadium municipal football 8 in which more than 600.000 euros have been invested, the remodeling of the old Consell Hall for a value of 267.000 euros, the sidewalk of the station that exceeds 200.000, the renovation of the municipal mobile park with an investment around of the 600.000 euros, the improvements to the Taller de Ivars and the Cultural one that are around 200.000 euros, an occupation plan of 500.000 euros, the change of the water meters for a value close to 200.000 euros, the improvements of the La Pedrera Industrial estate , the outdoor classrooms for schools and public institutes, the installation of solar panels in the municipal swimming pool, the candles in the children's playground, the calisthenics park and an innumerable number of a Actions with less impact such as the change in horizontal and vertical signage or urban furniture that boast an objectively “unbeatable” year, as highlighted by the municipal chief, Arturo Poquet.
In addition to everything that can be seen, specific mention should also be made of all the initiatives of concrete support to the economic fabric of Benissa, among which are aid plans, tourist promotional actions and consumer incentives. Some of them, of course, with the support of the Generalitat Valenciana and
the Alicante Provincial Council, two institutions that, to date, have shown an agile and impeccable collaboration with the council for the execution of their mandate project.
The mayor, Poquet, has recognized the incredible effort of his entire team and said that "we have made the greatest investment effort in our history and the results will be seen in the coming months."
