The Department of Tourism puts out to tender the contracting of the supply and installation of cycling infrastructure equipment. Specifically, there are 10 bicycle parking stands, five made of galvanized steel and five made from recycled plastics.
In addition, the acquisition of 4 self-repair poles is also planned, the latter made of galvanized steel. The term of execution of the contract is 3 months for car parks and 6 months for mechanical centers.
The main mission of these facilities is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to health and well-being, climate action and sustainable communities.
Specifically, the technical specifications document describes issues such as the promotion of cyclist mobility,
safe parking lots, development of urban routes and along the coast, reduction of access to motorized vehicles, preservation of biodiversity, improvement of degraded areas and reduction of polluting gases.
The global cost of the contract is 18.000 euros including VAT and will be financed with Next Generation funds from the European Union within the framework of the recovery, transformation and resilience plan.
The councilor, Jorge Ivars, has said that "we want to promote natural tourism and transform mobility in Benissa through modernization interventions in our public spaces while respecting the environment".
