Dancers trained in Pedreguer visit the City Hall after participating in the Edimsha 2024 competition

08 2024 April - 12: 27

A few days ago, a group of dancers trained at the Nanny Alves Dance School in Pedreguer returned from the Edimsha 2024 competition at the Astoria Theater in Xiva, in Valencia, bringing with them many medals and awards. The Pedreguera dancer Emma Gansen was awarded the gold medal in the baby solo ballet category. Also, the Pedregueras Àurea Gayà and Joana Mañana from Sanet competed for the first time in the children's category, taking home three bronze medals for Àurea and two bronze medals for Joana. The group choreographies danced by Àurea, Emma and Joana together with their companions, the Pedregueras Bet Oliver, Dalia Costa, Gisela Vives from Ondara and Ona Cabrera from Xaló, were worthy of several silver and bronze trophies.

This year, several students began a new stage of learning, since they rose in category, which increases the demand for technical and artistic level. Ballet requires, in addition to talent and love, commitment, resilience and understanding of each educational stage. «It is a comprehensive, artistic, physical, technical and human learning process. “I am very proud of the united and grateful team,” commented the teacher, Nanny Alves.

April 4, 2024 will be forever marked in the hearts of all the dancers, including María Artigues and Ariadna LLobell, winners of silver medals and trophies in the junior and senior categories in previous editions of the competition. All the dancers took a walk through the town with their medals and trophies to thank the institutions, businesses and companies in the town that have collaborated with them for their support.

They were first received at the Pedreguer town hall by Mayor Sergi Ferrús, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports Pepe Cabrera and the Councilor for Culture Noelia García. The dancers had the opportunity to tell how they felt, and also to thank the city council for the fundamental support for their training, especially the opportunity to have promoted their shows until now. Ferrús expressed her joy at seeing that the girls trained in Pedreguer are achieving these achievements, and having experiences that strengthen their comprehensive training.

They also visited the Rolser company, the Fisiopedreguer clinic and the DG MOTORS workshop, stone companies and businesses that have always been next to this school. The teacher reiterated to all of them, as well as to the MAYMAS supermarket, her commitment to the search for artistic and human excellence in dance education, of all children and adult ballet students in Pedreguer. They were days of many emotions, of profound progress in their careers, reaping achievements as a result of the work done. Now is the time to thank everyone and especially the families of all the students, because "together we form a great team, united to bring beauty and art to the stages that welcome us."
