This information has been transferred after attending this morning the joint meeting by videoconference of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, the Sectoral Conference on Education and the General Conference on University Policy.
In addition, they have requested from the Ministry of Health the need to have an update of the COVID-19 case management protocol in classrooms adapted to the current situation of the pandemic before the teaching activity is resumed next Monday.
Vaccination is resumed for children between 5 and 8 years of age
Ana Barceló pointed out that "next week the vaccination of the school population between 5 and 8 years old will be resumed, as well as schoolchildren between 9 and 11 years old who could not be vaccinated before Christmas."
The councilor stressed that "the percentage of vaccination of this population in the Valencian Community is higher than the state average" and recalled that during this week the educational personnel who received the double standard of AstraZeneca are being immunized with the booster dose.
For his part, Vicent Marzà highlighted that "presence is necessary, not only from the pedagogical point of view but also from the public health point of view, since educational centers are safe spaces for students, thanks to prevention protocols and vaccination campaigns ".
Carolina Pascual has ensured that she will maintain coordination with the rectors and rectors of the universities to assess the evolution of the pandemic in the classrooms and ensure that all security measures such as distance and capacity control are met to prevent infections.
