On April 20, the autonomous absolute individual rhythmic gymnastics event was held in Torrevieja. The three gymnasts from the CG Les Marines de Calp who had obtained the classification moved there. Katherina Truckacheva, Sophie O'Reilly and Yeva Taranenko had a splendid competition, but the high level of this competition did not allow Truckacheva and O'Reilly to get the long-awaited pass.
The first Les Marines gymnast to come out to defend her exercises was the child Katherina Truckacheva. She opened her competition with the hoop, performing an almost perfect exercise, which earned her the autonomous bronze. Next it was the turn of the ball, one of the star exercises of this season. Katya showed great maturity and mastery of the apparatus, saving imprecise trajectories and managing to perform an exceptional exercise. Which led her to proclaim herself regional runner-up with the ball.
Finally, with almost no preparation time, it was the turn of the clubs. In this exercise, the pressure of the competition took its toll on the young gymnast from Les Marines, which led her to make big mistakes and was what deprived her of obtaining the long-awaited pass to the Spanish Championship. Despite this, Truckacheva demonstrated once again her great level, proof of this is given by her classifications in hoop and ball, although due to her foreign status she did not have the honor of collecting her well-deserved medals.
The next to go out to compete were the fingerlings Sophie O'Reilly and Yeva Taranenko. Both defended three exercises, free hands, hoop and rope. Despite their young age, they knew how to temper their nerves and hold a competition without fail. But once again the high level of our autonomy and the few places available for the national phase, were a handicap when it came to getting the pass, leaving Sophie at the gates of the classification. Even so, the bronze medal obtained by O'Reilly in the rope exercise stands out.
