The Calp City Council, through the Department of Equality, will begin this coming Wednesday, March 1, the programming of activities planned for Women's Day. And it will do so with the celebration of a practical theoretical workshop on easy painting "Tribute to women painters", organized by the Friends of Art association (ADA).

The course, which will be held every Wednesday in March from 18.30:20.30 p.m. to 722270841:XNUMX p.m. at the Casa de Cultura, aims to introduce women artists who were pioneers as well as the difficulties they faced, names forgotten in the books of history and, therefore, unknown to the vast majority. In addition, students will have the opportunity to reinterpret some of the paintings by these artists and offer their own version as a tribute to their work. The workshop is aimed at all audiences and it is not necessary to have knowledge of painting to participate in it. Registrations will be made by phone XNUMX.

Likewise, two conferences will be held. The first, “Vital issues in the health of athletes”, by Lucía Carmona, a sports manager specialized in Sports and Women, which will take place this Friday, March 3 at 19:8 p.m. in the Saló Blau. It will address essential issues that must be taken into account in women's sports such as their hormonal system, the menstrual cycle and its relationship with training, among other factors. And the second conference will be organized by the Housewives Association and will be entitled "The woman of the 10.30st century", by Carmen González Arenas. It will take place on March 11.30, International Women's Day, from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. at the Saló Blau.

That day, in addition, the collective reading "Lletres violeta" of the Silene d'Ifac Reading Club is scheduled at the "Joanot Martorell" Municipal Public Library from 9.30:10.30 a.m. to 8:XNUMX a.m., as well as the reading of the Institutional Declaration for XNUMXM by the mayor Ana Sala at 12 noon in the Saló Blau.

On Saturday, March 11, the workshop "Martial Arts led by women" will be held at 11:XNUMX a.m., given by Nora Ruiz, coach of the Taekwondo Athenea Club, and Beatriz Cano, national karate coach, at the Polideportivo Domingo Crespo Azul Court. The minimum age to participate is seven years and interested persons must register through the email igualdad@ajcalp.es.

On Thursday, March 16, the screening of the documentary and film forum "Patriarchy, the harmful organism" will take place in the auditorium, in two sessions. The first, at 11.30:18 a.m., will be addressed to the IES Ifac and the second, at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., to the general public.

The program is completed by the exhibition “Art therapy. And what do you have left over? in the Esplai Hall of the Casa de Cultura, which will be inaugurated at 19:6 p.m. on March 31 and will be open to the public until March XNUMX.
