"We probably host the most comprehensive summer program in the last decade." This is how forceful the Councilor for Culture, Rosa Lucía Pino, has been at the beginning of her speech during the press conference held today where she has made known the cultural, sports, leisure and entertainment offer of which both tourists and the population of Benissa will be able to enjoy it during the months of July and August. And it is that, in addition to the activities already consolidated, this summer it is committed to new initiatives with which it is intended to help the economic fabric and boost the activity of shops, bars and restaurants.
The program will begin on the 26th with the concert by the Band of Benissa 'Trons i sons. Moment de Festa 'that will take place from 20.30 pm in the Dolores Piera car park and will end on August 31 with the different ordinary activities planned for that day.
As important novelties to highlight in this edition of 'Viu l'Estiu' are the outdoor monologues which will take place on July 2, 16 and 30 and August 6 and 20 at 23.00:9 p.m. alternately between the Plaza de l'Esglesia Vella and the Plaza del Center Social Bèrnia and will be in charge of artists with wide regional and national recognition such as Jesús Manzano, Rafa Forner, Carol Tomás, SUBIT! and Álex Martínez. Another novelty on offer is the humorous performance of the group 'Juja Teatre' on Friday, July XNUMX in the morning at the La Marina University Venue.

In the gastronomic field, it is important to reflect the initiative with Food Trucks on La Fustera beach from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 August, an activity that will be enlivened with different musical performances.
Summer cinema and open-air concerts
In addition, the traditional proposals will continue to be maintained and those that worked in the previous edition or during the Easter season will continue to be expanded. For example, the council has re-organized the summer cinema, which can be enjoyed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 22.00:XNUMX pm in Plaza Germans Ivars. Likewise, the summer concerts on alternate fridays in Germans Ivars Square at 22.00pm.
But not only will music be playing on that side of town, but the Plaza and the La Fustera area will also serve as the setting for different musical performances by local artists during all Saturdays and Sundays of the summer. In addition, the town will have an initiative launched from the Municipal Library under the name 'Cuentos al patio' that will take place on Wednesdays interspersed at 19.30pm. If something could not be missing in this brochure is the ninth edition of the Benissa Open Night that will go hand in hand with the Nit en Blanc on Saturday 21 August, and which will help to a large extent to strengthen the commerce and hospitality of the area.
