On March 5, a part of the Amadem collective traveled to the Nazaret sports center (Valencia) to participate in the IV Sports Day organized by ACOVA, a Valencian mental health association, in which they were able to share experiences, in addition to the hosts, with other groups from sueca and Vinaròs.
A day that began with the invitation by the organizing entity of coca and chocolate for lunch, and that continued with the holding of 7-a-side soccer and petanque competitions; tests in which AMADEM was runner-up. "Our athletes competed very well and were only surpassed by the hosts," the entity reports. Other more recreational activities were also carried out, such as Valencian pelota exhibitions and physical maintenance exercises, activities that the associates enjoyed.
The day ended with a meal near the sports venue, in an inclusive atmosphere and a paella as the main incentive. «We are aware of the importance of this type of activities in our group, highly demanded by them, in which the recreational/sports element is associated with an important social component, and sociability is a fundamental aspect in the field. of Mental Health," said Toni Rodríguez Millán, Amadem sports coordinator.
"We are going to continue working for an inclusive sport, where integration and adaptation are the key ingredients to give visibility to diversity," Rodríguez added. Furthermore, the organization has thanked ACOVA for the invitation, and the TAPIS of Gata de Gorgos and Xàbia for accompanying them on this sporting day. "At AMADEM we will continue to support the recovery and rehabilitation of our group through sports practice," the coordinator concluded.
