They fight in a hurry to suffocate the flames of a fire produced in the Vall d'Ebo

Around the 22:00 hours, the observatory of the Alicante Fire Prevention Center detected a forest fire in the Vall d'Ebo and a unit of Forest Firefighters, a fire engine, 3 fire crews from the Alicante Provincial Council and a forestry coordinator were mobilized.

A las 00:35 hours, according to information from the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat, Situation 1 of the Special Plan Against the Risk of Forest Fires (PEIF) of the Valencian Community was activated.

The hours in which the fire occurred, apparently due to a lightning strike, prevented the aerial means from acting. To 1:00 hours in the morning, Emergencies reports the increase in means to control and suffocate the flames of the forest fire that originated in the Vall d'Ebo. At the moment they are working on the extinction tasks: 5 units of Forest Firefighters, 5 fire trucks, 6 firefighters from the Diputación de Alicante, 2 forestry coordinators and 1 Environmental Agent.

Now 1:10 hours, the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat Valenciana raises the danger situation and activates Situation 2 of the PEIF (Special Plan Against the Risk of Forest Fires) since the forecast of evolution may affect the population.

The magnitude of the fire can be seen from various towns, not only in the region but also in municipalities that are tens of kilometers away, such as Benidorm, Alcoy or Gandia, among others.

Now 1:40 hours, the Emergency Coordination Center requests the intervention of the UME (Military Emergency Unit).

At the moment, at 2:00 hours, and according to neighbors and witnesses, the fire is still out of control and the gusts of wind are minimal, which can give a respite to the strong evolution of the fire.
