Ondara will comply with the demanded ventilation of the municipal pavilion and with four more projects
Within the game of 50.000 euros for the Participatory Budgets of the City council of Ondara the consistory will be able to execute four of the most voted projects by its citizenship. With regard to the ventilation of the municipal sports hall, although it was planned to include it in said item, finally, the City Council has requested a subsidy from the Diputació Provincial d'Alacant to execute it. Something that, they say, is already underway.
As for the rest of the municipal projects, the Citizen Participation council launched a campaign so that Ondarense society could vote on which of the eight proposals presented by the municipal technical team gave more urgency. Therefore, from June 1 to 15, the voting process was opened to all those registered over 16 years of age.
The most voted municipal projects
In this way, on June 21, the Consell de Participació d'Ondara met to recount the physical votes and calculate the total together with the telematic ones. Finally, a total of 174 votes were counted. So, in order of the majority of votes, the projects in Ondara that most concern citizens are:
- 1. Pavilion ventilation (46.000 euros): better ventilation conditioning, especially in summer (50 votes).
- 2. Installation of public lighting to access the cemetery (19.000 euros): installation of several light points in the section from the Dénia street intersection, Alfatares road, to the car park access to improve road safety for people (31 votes).
- 3. Parking for the sports center (3.000 euros): create new parking spaces (23 votes).
- 4. Children's area in the Tossals park (50.000 euros): creation of a large themed children's play area (0-6 years) in said park (20 votes).
- 5. Cover of the stands of the municipal football field (31.000 euros): cover the stands about 10/15 meters, to avoid the sun during the very hot months. Like to protect yourself from the rain in the rainy seasons (18 votes).
- 6. Mirrors in the Crist neighborhood (10.280 euros): on Constitución, Pizarro and Oest streets, due to poor visibility, it is necessary to place mirrors on the sides to avoid possible collisions between vehicles (14 votes).
- 7. Snoezelen Room or Multisensory Room (7.000 euros): these are interactive spaces designed to stimulate the senses, with the aim of improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and older people with severe cognitive impairment or dementia, who have affected motor and neurological abilities (13 votes).
- 8. Fences in the streets of the entrances to the bulls (26.760 euros): gates with iron bars in the streets adjacent to the Calle Mayor for the safety of people on the route of the entrances to the bulls at festivals (5 votes).
Since the most voted proposal was that of the ventilation of the pavilion, but it was a project that was already included in the plans of the government team, it was decided to execute proposals number 2, 3, 6 and 7.
