The Calp PSPV-PSOE has issued a statement in which it denies having any type of pre-electoral pact with the current mayoress of Calp, Ana Sala, and her new party Somos Calpe. According to Guillermo Sendra, candidate for mayor for the Calpino socialists, the Popular Party, more specifically its candidate, César Sánchez, would have insinuated such a thing.

"Calpinos do not deserve the chaotic drift that the Popular Party is taking by resorting to rumors to campaign for an election," Sendra said. The socialist candidate admits not wanting to enter such an "unsuccessful" debate that the popular candidate would try to open.

The PSOE, he assures, "is focusing on sectoral, neighborhood meetings, gathering ideas and proposals to be able to contest the elections with a program of change that offers a future to Calp." For this reason, Sendra has publicly requested through a podcast that Sánchez resign for launching these accusations because "above all you have to safeguard the truth, you have to be honest," he concluded.
